Brand shoot BTS: Styled wedding at Wish Well House
Why did I decide to put together a styled shoot for my web design business?
When you're building a brand in the wedding industry, the photos you use matter - like, a lot. As a photographer-turned-web-designer, I'm always preaching about the power of good photography! It sets the tone, tells your story, and creates that perfect first impression for your dream clients!
What’s my brand’s story? I love designing websites for wedding professionals that are clean, personality-driven, and strategic. It fuels me to help my clients stand out online, book their ideal clients, and feel like their work just flows :)
I want to reflect that same kind of clarity and ease in my own brand - through my work, my copy, my own website’s design, and especially the photography!
I've always used a mix of my own brand photos and general stock photos to create that perfect wedding industry atmosphere my clients know and love. But using stock photos from so many different sources can start to feel a bit scattered.
So after years of piecing together various images, I teamed up with the creative Annie Shannon Co (a DFW-based wedding & brand photographer) to plan my own set of brand images that felt cohesive and could serve multiple purposes across my website, blog, Instagram, PDFs, and workshops.
For this styled wedding, the vision was to create a collection of photos in sync with my brand’s color palette and vibe: fresh, clean, and light with soft, feminine energy - keeping it relaxed and carefree. And if you know my brand, you know I'm all about those lavender and peach accents! :) So Spring was the perfect season for this shoot.
But y'all, can we talk about the incredible local businesses who came together for this shoot?? Since I work with wedding pros every day, I knew I wanted to capture not just the pretty details, but the amazing people behind them. After all, these are the people who bring beautiful events to life, and they represent exactly who I serve through my web design business.
Meet the dream team: The Dallas & Austin wedding vendors
For starters: we couldn't have picked a more beautiful venue than Wish Well House, tucked away outside of Austin in Georgetown, TX. Owners Katy and Justin have transformed it from a neglected historic building to a stunning high-end venue; and it was the ideal backdrop for our shoot with all its colorful & quirky, yet tasteful, accents!
This also couldn’t have happened with the incredible Courtney from Moonstruck Events as our coordinator, and Josh and Hannah McGinty as our models. They used this opportunity to renew their vows - and their genuine connection brought so much life to the photos. :)
Of course, the team that brought their looks to life deserves a huge shoutout. Lovely Bride in Dallas provided two fresh & natural Georgia Young gowns that totally fit the vibe we were going for. Josh looked equally on-point in his Suit Shop tux with fabulous lavender accessories. And Iva Marie of Formal Faces worked her magic with hair and makeup, making sure everything felt down-to-earth but polished.
When it came to the details that really make a wedding pop, Jen Krause Paper Co absolutely nailed the stationery. Everything from the invitation suite, menus, and vow booklets were not just beautifully on-theme but practical too! I’m absolutely obsessed with how perfectly they paired with the understated rentals from Noma Events (one of Austin’s finest!).
The cake and florals totally brought that spring vibe we wanted. Rayne’s Desserts crafted a cake that was the perfect balance of simple and elegant; and Marisa Brown used locally-sourced flowers to create these gorgeous, airy arrangements that made the space feel fresh and inviting.
The day wouldn't have been complete without our incredible team of visual storytellers! Annie Shannon Co brought her master photography skills to capture every detail (which I had the joy of editing!), while Content by Clarice created the most amazing video content. And talk about unique touches - Vogue Vignette added an artistic flair by creating live sketches of our couple during the reception!
I feel like I finally have a cohesive library of images that feel 100% authentically me and my brand. (And yah, I'm totally freaking obsessed!)
