Portfolio: Galaxy-inspired Squarespace website for an astrologer

About Starheal

Amy Tripp, LMSW

Amy is a licensed therapist who understands the healing and power astrology can bring to your life.

After being featured in dozens of articles and growing her Twitter following to tens of thousands, Amy suddenly found herself with an audience wanting to pay for her astrology services, but no website through which to sell them.

The Requests

A website with stronger brand visuals for selling services on-demand.

Amy tried putting together a simple Squarespace website on her own (there’s my affiliate link if you’re interested) but didn’t end up getting very far. She felt like it was too short, too basic, and too boring.

She wanted a more personal design that reflected the relatable, direct yet empathetic personality she’d become known for on Twitter. However, she still wanted it to showcase her her credentials and extensive experience.

She also needed a way to book consultations as well as her astrology reports.

The Design

Striking visual harmony between vulnerability & strength.

I definitely wanted to bring in the galaxy theme, but expand on it a bit using other themes that are reminiscent of the night sky; like constellations, sunsets, and even marble patterns. I also wanted it to feel very modern, strong, and current.

I think the softness of the sunset images allows for a more youthful and vulnerable feeling, while the dark colors of black and blue anchor the design in the stability of the stars. How’s that for an artistic interpretation?!

All that to say… here was the brand board we created!

We first made sure to add all the necessary content to each page and set up her site structure to convert.

I gathered tons & tons of stock photos to support the design, and then created icons and backgrounds using Canva.

I added these elements to the site, along with some really cool custom fonts to make sure we were taking the design away from the typical Squarespace template.

Lastly, we added Squarespace Scheduling into the mix so that clients could instantly book the consultation of their choice.

Here’s what Amy had to say about working together!

“Before deciding to hire Emily, I tried to build my own website and it looked very amateur. My new updated website has increased traffic for my business! She’s good at what she does and the value is worth the cost.”
